Dear Parents, I want to keep you posted each month on topics we are discussing here at Carver Elementary during guidance.  This month we have been discussing kindness in the classrooms just as we teach math and reading, it's important that we also teach strong character.  As we focus on kindness at school, we will discuss ways to show kindness to those around us.  I would love for you to discuss this with your child at home.  Also, I want to provide you with a few simple ways to practice kindness in your home!  Plant a tree, donate clothes or toys to charity, drop flowers off at a nursing home, volunteer your time.  Thank you so much for your support!  I know that, together, we can color our world with kindness.

Welcome back to a new school year!  The school is once again filled with laughter, smiling faces and children eager to learn.  I have had the pleasure of hearing about their enjoyable summer.  In the Counseling department, we will be focusing on kindness, fairness, respect, self-control, conflict resolution, responsibility, empathy, self-awareness, leadership and giving back will be just some of the traits that we will celebrate this year.  Through many events this school year, we hope to teach our children that character counts!  Each month students will be given ways to help others. Other supportive services through individual counseling, small group and lunch club.  I look forward to working with all children at Carver Elementary.
